This note is truly one of the nicest, if not the nicest, fancy 1928 $1 Legal Tender Red Seals in existence.
For a note such as this to survive in such fine condition is just a stroke of good fortune. Since most of the circulated 1928 $1 Legals had to contend with years of heat and humidity in Puerto Rico, few ended-up in this attractive condition. This eye-popper apparently caught someones eye shortly after release and fortunately was adopted and promptly taken off the streets.
For those of us in the collecting community that foresight provides us with a rare and wonderful opportunity.
To find a comparable note in this condition is likely impossible. Keep in mind, there are literally thousands of fancy Federal Reserve Notes for every one Legal Tender Red Seal.
