1995 $10 Premium Fed Reserve Set #99999933Y - Includes 12 Scarce Blocks
Price: $1175
Released in June 2003 and limited to just 2000 sets, the 1995 $10 Premium Sets were sequestered for an unusually long period of time before the BEP decided to offer them to collectors. Once they finally saw the light of day, it was evident that the words ‘unusual’ and ‘exceptional’ were the perfect words to describe this Premium Set.
Here’s why:
1. This Set and the 1999 $10 Premium Set are the only High-Numbered 12-note matching Premium Sets ever issued by the BEP.
2. Each district note possesses the scarce ‘Y’ suffix. The ‘Y’ suffix was never issued for general commerce. Except for a limited number allocated to Premium Historical Portfolios, these remain the only ‘Y’ suffix notes ever issued for the $10, $20, $50 or $100 denominations. This Set includes 12 different ‘Y’ suffix notes from A99999933Y to L99999933Y, one for each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts
3. It was released 2 years after the 1999 $10 Premium Set was released. In effect, the earlier Set (1995) was issued 2 years after the later Set (1999).
4. These scarce notes are invisible to most collectors. Guides, such as the Schwartz and Lindquist Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money and the Friedberg Guide Book of United States Paper Money, make absolutely no mention of these blocks. Yet, they remain some of the rarest blocks ever issued by the BEP.
Offered here is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, 1995 Premium Set in the marketplace today. It is the 66th highest numbered set ever issued, and a binary at that. Extremely scarce at this level, it could take literally years to find a comparable set.
A real sleeper, that makes Rip Van Winkle look like just an ordinary napper, these Premium Sets have, in our opinion, enormous upside potential.
A beautiful set in it’s own right, recognition of it’s uniqueness will likely elevate it to the stature it deserves.
Here’s a great opportunity to add a historic set to your collection before that famous tipping point kicks in.
