A beautiful example of this scarce and infamous note.
As you may know, these were never officially released through standard channels, such as the BEP website. They were only made available from the BEP at a number of Coin Shows, beginning with the 2006 ANA Show in Atlanta. Limited to an official print run of only 9600 notes, it quickly became an an instant classic once the word of its very limited print run became known.
It is now understood by the collecting community that only 7800 or so of these notes were actually released. This is due in part to all sheets under #100 being destroyed (except for the #5 Sheet).
Low-numbered examples in the 100 range are rarely available and certainly represent some of the most prized notes from this scarce vintage.
In the marketplace, demand for these notes remains unabated. Market observers will likely agree that these are much tougher to find today than even six months ago. A truly striking design in its own right, it represents the essence of collecting appeal,... scarcity, beauty, and intrigue.
