2003A $5 FB12345678A - PCGS-67 PPQ
Price: $2850
This is just a beauty!
Full Up Ladders on $5s are show-stoppers and rarer than most of us realize. And to find one in such a high grade as this is most fortunate.
For each full block of 96,000,000 notes, there is just one perfect 1-8 Up Ladder. In comparison, eight solid serial-numbered notes (i.e.,FB44444444A) are produced for each single Full Up Ladder. This isn’t rocket science or brain surgery or even Jeopardy, but it does underscore the true rarity of a perfect 1-8 Up Ladder note.
And since $1 and $20s are the workhorses of the Federal Reserve system, and thus produced in much greater numbers, to find a Full Up Ladder on a $5 (with the ‘A’ Suffix no less) is rare.
With the Big Head $5 designs already superseded by the Newly Designed 2006 $5s, this is an opportunity that the discriminating collector will find awfully tough to pass up.
And rightfully so.
