Issued to celebrate the Millennium, these notes are housed in a modernistic folder distinct from other BEP Special Issues. These notes are also distinctive in that all the notes have serial numbers beginning with 2001.

These are not to be confused with notes from the Millennium Coin and Currency Sets which also includes a Series 1999 Millennium Note. The difference is that the notes from those Sets have serial numbers beginning with 2000.

Regardless of when you believe the Millennium began, the BEP let’s you collect Special Issue Millennium notes honoring both years. Why split hairs when it comes to an event that happens only once every thousand years?
