1999 $5 Richmond Star Note - Special issue

Issued in late 2002 in conjunction with the 1999 Cleveland $10 Special Issue and 1999 Boston $100 Special Issue, this offering was limited to a modest 4,500 notes.
Interestingly, the serial numbers from this Richmond Special Issue have been found in two separate ranges. The first serial number range (starting with 03200001*) coincides with the serial number range for the 1999 $10 Special Issue and 1999 $100 Special Issue.
The second group, as illustrated by the note below, began with BE16000001*. With only 4,500 notes offered it is surprising that they were drawn from two separate print runs. This may be attributable to the small total print runs of 128,000 and 320,000 respectfully, for each group.
Be as it may, the note below combines an intriguing history and fancy number, which portends well for the collector who foresees increased interest in BEP collectibles and appreciates the small number of notes and the nuances of each issue.
